Trim removal systems are NOT one size fits all.

When choosing a trim removal system, always make sure your potential supplier of the system knows your full range operating specifications. These specifications are:

Web width (minimum to maximum)
Machine speed (minimum to maximum)
What types of materials will you run thru the system?
Trim width range (minimum to maximum)
How many trims do you want to convey?
Are the trims continuous or pieces?
What is your conveying distance?
Are there any adhesives involved?

Keep in mind, most companies who manufacture trim removal systems will want material samples (if they do not ask for a sample - you should offer one and make sure they test it).

Suppliers of trim removal equipment will size a system to handle your "worst case" trim, so be careful to use real specifications. Do not use "pie in the sky" specifications. If you do, you may wind up with an oversized, overpriced and more complex system than you really need.

When choosing trim removal equipment, try to pick a supplier who manufactures a broad range of system configurations and sizes. This will ensure the system you ultimately purchase is the right size for your application. If you pick a "one size fits all" type of system, it may be undersized for your application, which may not work well for you at all or it may wind up being oversized for your application, which will cost you a lot of money initially and cause wasteful energy costs in the long run.
