Mechanical Chucks Vertical Mounting

Mechanical chucks are an excellent choice for supporting any core and roll in almost every unwind and rewind application. One unwind and rewind application for which they are particularly well suited is the simple "table-top" application. Table-top applications are typically light duty and usually unwind and rewind rolls of material in the vertical orientation. The process may be as simple as web inspection or label counting or something along those lines. These table top machines are light and easy to move around for easy placement where they are required. Mechanical chucks donít require air to operate, so locating the table top near a pneumatic source is not required to operate the mechanical chucks.

Mechanical chucks deliver their torque in the machine or rotational direction. They do not supply as much torque in the cross"machine direction. So a flange for the roll of material to align up against is required at the bottom of the vertically oriented mechanical chuck.
