Consider Modular Trim Removal Instead of Centralized

Many times, modular trim removal systems are more reliable, more efficient, more compact, easier to configure and designed for your company's growth. All for a lower price tag, initially and long term.

Centralized systems generally utilize one, large, energy consuming material handling fan. Modular systems utilize smaller, energy efficient blowers to create suction with the use of a venturi. There are many advantages to using modular systems. Ask yourself (and prospective suppliers) these questions:

  1. Do I run all my machines, together, 100% of the time? Centralized systems must be sized considering maximum thru put. So, if you run 100% of your machines only a portion of the day, week, month or year, keep in mind, with a centralized system you are burning enough energy to power 100% of your machines, whether you are running them or not, which is money wasted. Modular systems can be literally turned on and off with each individual machine, conserving energy. A centralized system is like having one light switch for every light in your house, your kids may like it because you're not yelling at them to turn off the light in their bedroom, but your energy bill won't.
  2. If my centralized system breaks, clogs up or requires maintenance, do I want all my machines connected to the system to go without trim removal? With modular systems, only individual machines will ever go without trim removal when there are issues.
  3. How do you get a continuous stream of trim thru rotating blades of a material handling fan? The answer is simple - you MUST chop it. Choppers are usually not required with modular systems and in general are supplied as a convenience item. Modular systems will convey continuous trim in one long stream without the necessity to chop.
  4. Do I need a centralized system to go long distances? No. Modular systems, today, can be designed to convey trim as far as centralized systems.

Consider the advantages and disadvantages of centralized and modular systems when shopping for a new trim removal system, whether for plant wide or just one machine.
