Where do I place my anti-wrinkle roll in my machine?

As a manufacturer of anti-wrinkle rolls, we get asked this question all the time. My answer is always the same. Your anti-wrinkle device should be placed as close as possible to the process where you need your web flat and without wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle devices do not permanently change your web. They do not modify your machine layout or roller alignment. Anti-wrinkle rolls simply remove wrinkles from webs. Depending on the cause of your wrinkle problem, those wrinkles may come back. So, it is very important to position anti-wrinkle devices very close to your process, so your process receives a flat, wrinkle-free web.

Nothing takes out a crease. That means anti-wrinkle rolls work best to remove wrinkles before they become creases. Your web should be wrinkle free prior to entering nip rollers and also prior to rewinding. Nip rolls in your machine will "iron in" wrinkles and cause creases. Rewinding wrinkled webs will cause creases in final products. Use anti-wrinkle rolls positioned just prior to nip roll assemblies and rewind stations to prevent creases.
