Plasma coating idlers and driven rolls can be extremely beneficial when trying to handle even the most aggressive adhesive webs
In my experience, I have not found an adhesive web that can't be handled with the proper plasma coating. A few years ago we supplied some equipment to a roofing material manufacturer. We had to deal with asphalt in its most adhesive state. Plasma coated idlers and nip rollers were the answer. Plasma is also a high traction coating. Very useful where the high traction of rubber covered rollers are required, but where you don't want the added mass of the rubber covering. Plasma coating is usually a very rough surface so webs that are easily scratched may have trouble with certain plasma coatings.
