There are several choices which must be made to contend with continuous edge trim, die cut piece or matrix waste. 
Winding continuous edge trim or matrix into rolls for later disposal can be an issue due to the desire to keep waste to a minimum. Narrow edge trims and matrix can snap and rolls become unstable as they build to larger diameters on the scrap rewind. Frequent machine stops or running slower speeds to accommodate difficult scrap roll build will cost any operation in lost time and decreased production throughput. 
Venturi type pneumatic waste conveying systems can pick up and remove continuous trim and matrix and pieces. Venturi type pneumatic conveying systems are generally modular in nature and can be added to existing converting machines easily and efficiently. They combine powerful venturis with pressure generated by energy frugal blowers. 
Modular type pneumatic waste conveying has many advantages over centralized systems. In addition to large initial cost savings; easy customization, better energy efficiency by way of choosing systems that are required each day to run and ease of individual service are just a few. CAC's FOX TrimAway division has three venturi sizes from which to choose and anywhere from .5HP up to 20HP regenerative blowers. This assures proper system and component sizing for almost any application. 
CAC's FOX TrimAway systems do not require the edge trim be broken up or chopped. FOX TrimAway systems are designed, specifically, to convey continuous edge trim or matrix as a standard feature of the system. However, CAC's FOX TrimAway division offers TrimAx trim choppers for applications where pieces are desired (instead of continuous trim) or for applications where extremely long discharge lengths require the conveyance of pieces.
